Legal Assistant – Personal Injury & Insurance | Melbourne Medico-Legal | Statutory & Institutional Abuse | TAC | WorkCover The Opportunity We are currently partnering with a number of well-established Melbourne law firms across the plaintiff and insurance sectors seeking experienced Legal Assistants (minimum 2 years in a law firm environment) to support busy and respected practitioners. Opportunities are available within: Medico-Legal & Personal Injury Statutory & Institutional Abuse TAC matters WorkCover & Workplace Injury Insurance Litigation These roles offer the opportunity to work on meaningful, complex matters where your contribution genuinely supports clients navigating difficult and life-changing circumstances. CBD and suburban opportunities available. The Role Working closely with Partners, Senior Lawyers and Associates, you will provide high-level administrative and matter support across a busy practice. Responsibilities may include: Managing personal injury and insurance files from open to close Preparing court documents, briefs, and medical bundles Liaising with clients, counsel, medical experts, insurers and third parties Coordinating medical appointments and expert reports Drafting correspondence and legal documentation Diary management and limitation tracking Billing, timesheets and general administrative support You will be a key part of ensuring matters progress efficiently and clients feel supported throughout the process. About You To be considered, you will have: Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Legal Assistant within a law firm (essential) Exposure to Personal Injury, TAC, WorkCover, abuse litigation or insurance matters (highly regarded) Strong organisational skills and attention to detail The ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and empathy Confidence liaising with clients and external stakeholders A proactive, team-oriented approach These roles suit individuals who are resilient, compassionate, and capable of managing structured, process-driven files.
